Payment arrangements

To complete bookings clients must use a credit card. In that regard we accept most major credit cards. The credit card used in the booking shall not be changed until the rental period is over. In certain cases, the credit card information provided in the booking phase, may be used to claim cost for damages or other mishandling of our product as later explained.

If the customer wishes to have the items delivered, a delivery fee will be added to the total amount of the booking. Delivery time may vary depending on the day but always within the hours of 10am-8pm. The customer will receive a text message the day before with an approximate delivery time.

When the rental period begins and the customer is handed over the products, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the equipment is in good condition.

Products will be delivered on the first day of the rental period and they must be returned on the last day of the rental period. If the customer wishes to receive the products on other dates such as the day before, or to return the items the day after, it is their responsibility to include those dates in the booking.

That will depend on availability of our product and etc.

Cancellation made within 7 days of the planned pickup/delivery will be nonrefundable.

Regarding late pickups we do provide our clients with a flexible grace period, with a one-hour standard, but in the events of cancelled or delayed flights we are more flexible. In cases of No-show clients are not entitled to reimbursements.

Extend a booking

If a customer foresees that he will not be able to return the product at the agreed upon time, he shall inform MiniRent immediately.

In those instances it could be possible to make an agreement of an extended rental period. An extension is always subject to approval from MiniRent as well as stock status in regards to rentals to other customers.

If an agreement of extension is made the customer will receive an invoice via email and shall, without delay, pay the whole amount.

The price for the extension is calculated using the price applicable to the number of days the customer is adding, as it appears on the website (www.minirent.is) and regardless of how many days were initially booked. The customer is not entitled to book extra days for the same price as in the initial booking.

If no agreement is made or if the customer does not inform MiniRent of a delayed return, a daily fine will be charged that corresponds to the rental price of the product in question based on a one-day rental, as stated on the website (www.minirent.is). The fine will be charged for each day that passes after the rental period has ended and until the product has been returned.

If MiniRent has not been informed of a delayed return and the product has not been returned within three days after the rental period ends, MiniRent reserves the right to charge the full value of the product. After the full value of the product has been charged, the customer is considered to be the owner of the product.

Deliveries are made daily between 10:00 and 20:00 (10am-8pm)

The day before the first day of the rental period the customer will receive a text message/email from MiniRent with a more precise delivery time.

The customer is responsible for informing MiniRent if he is not able to receive the product at that time.

If a MiniRent staff member arrives to deliver the product at the time stated in the text message/email the day before and no one is home or answers the phone, the staff member will wait for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes of waiting, if no one has answered, the MiniRent staff member will leave so he can continue with other deliveries. In those cases MiniRent reserves the right to condemn the booking as a “no-show” and the customer automatically loses the right to receive the product. “No-show” bookings are non-refundable. The same goes for when MiniRent picks up the product after the rental period ends, the staff member will wait for 30 minutes if no one is home or answers the door. He will then continue on with other pickups/deliveries. In those cases MiniRent reserves the right to charge a daily fine that corresponds to the rental price of the product in question based on a one-day rental, as stated on the website (www.minirent.is). The fine will be charged for each day that passes after the rental period has ended and until the product has been returned. If the product has not been returned within three days after the rental period ends, MiniRent reserves the right to charge the full value of the product. After the full value of the product has been charged, the customer is considered to be the owner of the product.

Under no circumstances will MiniRent agree to leave products outside when no one is home or allow customers to leave products outside for MiniRent to pick up. In some cases an arrangement can be made for the products to be left inside, for example in a garage, a storage space or an entryway/foyer. In those cases the customer is responsible for the product as soon as the MiniRent staff member leaves it behind.
